The Adrenaline Volleyball Club (AVBC) is currently under SRVA (Southern Region Volleyball Association) and formed with junior girls and the commitment of promoting volleyball. Our mission statement is to improve volleyball skills for players in the North Georgia, Southeastern Tennessee and surrounding areas at the beginner, middle and high school levels. Founded in 2011, AVBC Teams have attended but are not limited to tournaments in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. This club was originally named Georgia Adrenaline Volleyball Club (GAVC), but the name was changed last club season, dropping the Georgia due to serving more and more players in the Tennessee and Alabama regions. All out of town/state tournaments are considered based on time travel. During the months of October through April and after if applicable, AVBC Teams maintain a rigorous practice and tournament schedule. Each team is committed but not limited to practicing a MINIMUM of two times a week, depending on the schedules of AVBC Coaching Staff, AVBC practice locations availability, and AVBC Players. All AVBC Coaches are Impact Certified, Positive Coaching Alliance Certified, Safe Sport Trained, and dedicated to increasing and improving the level of play for area volleyball in the North Georgia and Southeastern Tennessee areas. AVBC Coaches are also committed to providing a pathway for female athletes to play the game of volleyball at the collegiate level.
Lisa White McDowell > Founder & Director of AVBC (423-320-5470)
AVBC has a contracted website that is managed by a computer analyst and is updated monthly or as needed. Our goal for this website is to provide updated and current information about Adrenaline Volleyball Club to the public population as well as provide exposure and detailed information to our AVBC Players and AVBC Parents. Plans for the AVBC Website is to provide AVBC Team player information, fee information, upcoming events such as seasonal tryouts, tournament schedules for each of our AVBC Teams, and other AVBC “happenings.” It is also an opportunity to “show off” our successes along with the success of our college bound AVBC Players. This website also allows AVBC Parents and other spectators to send questions and concerns directly to the Club Director, Lisa White McDowell. At the beginning of each season, AVBC Coaching Staff bios will be added to the website without sharing personal information. All AVBC Coaches will provide contact information to their individual teams at their first parent meeting after tryouts and team selections. The AVBC Website will be used as an informative tool in the event of a crisis/epidemic that occurs and will be monitored/updated monthly, also providing additional user-friendly information throughout the 2024-2025 Club Volleyball Season.
Southern Region Volleyball Association (SRVA) changed the Tryout Format last Club Season with the beginning tryout date being July, 2024. As a result, tryouts for Adrenaline Volleyball Club will be a 2-day format. Tryouts will be divided up by age groups: 15 years & under, and 16 years & up. There will be more than one court so age groups will be divided on each age-appropriate court. Each age division will be a 2-hour session to cover all volleyball skills and allow for game play scenarios. Dates and times for the 2024-2025 tryouts are as follows:
DAY 1 – July 20, 2024
15 & under > 10:00-12:00pm
16 & up > 2:00-4:00pm
DAY 2 – July 21, 2024
15 & under > 2:00-4:00pm
16 & up > 5:00-7:00pm
This will be a TRYOUT ONLY and the goal is for AVBC SEASON PRACTICES to BEGIN MID OCTOBER. Due to the newer SRVA Tryout format, a fall makeup tryout is a possibility, if the need arises. This will also be based around AVBC Coaching Staff scheduling and gym availability. There will be a parent informational meeting for parents to ask questions and receive information about Adrenaline Volleyball Club from the AVBC Director (as needed) on July 17th. The location for this meeting is at Chattanooga Fire Fighters Association, Local 820 meeting hall. ALL AVBC Teams will have a parent meeting individually at their first team practice once practices begin for AVBC Teams in October, 2024. All parents and interested parties are welcome to attend the parent informational meeting as well as individual parent team meetings. This parent informational meeting is for players that are either NEW to club volleyball or NEW to Adrenaline Volleyball Club. During AVBC Tryouts, players are assigned a tryout number and put through a series of drill demonstrations of volleyball skills (serving, passing/digging, setting, hitting, and blocking), as well as be put in game like situations and game play. AVBC Coaching Staff will observe all players on an individual and team basis. Players will be notified by the AVBC Director and/or a designated AVBC Coaching Staff member if they are being offered a position on any of the AVBC Teams and the players have up to 4 calendar days to accept or decline the offer. Based on ability levels, there may be players asked to move up to a higher age group than their chronological age to challenge their individual skills. The AVBC Director believes that ALL AVBC Players should be challenged at their highest potential and if AVBC Players can handle playing at a higher age level, for both the physical and mental part of the game, they will be recommended to move up. However, the ULTIMATE DECISION will be the AVBC Player’s Parents’ choice even after any recommendation. Adrenaline is looking to produce competitive teams based on ability at all age levels. Tournament play usually begins in mid-January and runs through the end of April. AVBC Teams season usually ends after SRVA Regional Tournament unless there is a National Bid for that AVBC Team or an AVBC Team discusses attending additional tournaments and/or Nationals with the AVBC Director. Any additional out of town/state qualifying tournaments added extra (other than the original 8 tournaments that AVBC pays for) to the AVBC Team schedule will be the responsibility of each AVBC Team through fundraising, AVBC Parents supporting the cost, and AVBC Director approval. SRVA Regional Tournament is usually late April and located out of town/state. The SRVA Regional Tournament is OPTIONAL and based on AVBC Coaching Staff discretion. If AVBC Players are interested in playing and their immediate team decides NOT to attend, that interested AVBC Player can be picked up by another AVBC Team with AVBC Director approval. If that AVBC Player’s team decides TO play in SRVA Regional Tournament, that AVBC Player WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be picked up by another AVBC Team. If an AVBC Team decides to play in the SRVA Regional Tournament, it will be the financial responsibility of the AVBC Parents and/or AVBC Team fundraising. AVBC WILL NOT PAY SRVA Regional Tournament fees, unless the AVBC Team chooses to replace one of their 8 league tournaments with the SRVA Regional Tournament. AVBC Players are allowed to be picked to play for other AVBC Teams if their immediate rostered team is NOT playing that same weekend. This is at the discretion of the AVBC Director, AVBC Coaching Staff, and the AVBC Parent of the picked up AVBC Player. All picked AVBC Players will be approved by the AVBC Director prior to play.
Practices will be a MINIMAL but not limited to 2 times per week beginning in mid-October unless otherwise specified with scheduling conflicts. An AVBC Parent Meeting for ALL AVBC Teams will be on the night of the first scheduled practice for each AVBC Team.

*AVBC Teams can have “open gym” only during these weeks if AVBC Players are available, but this WILL NOT be mandatory.
TOTAL NUMBER OF REQUIRED BUT NOT LIMITED TO PRACTICES PER AVBC TEAM = 52 PRACTICES
AVBC Coaches have reserved the right to CLOSED practices if they choose. This is on an AVBC Team INDIVIDUAL basis. The AVBC Director recommends closed practices to maintain AVBC Player focus. However, ANY AVBC Coaching Staff reserves the right to have open practices if they choose to do so. The goal is to keep AVBC practices local and practice locations will depend on the AVBC Team a player is selected to as well as based on gym availability each season. AVBC is currently working closely with several local churches and schools, keeping minimal travel distance in mind. Dedication and commitment are two major deciding factors for considered players and playing time by AVBC Coaches. Commitment from AVBC Players for practices and tournaments are ESSENTIAL to the success of the AVBC Team. All school/church activities come first but will need to be prioritized appropriately during AVBC Club Season. It is important that AVBC Players are committed to their AVBC Team because the absence of one player can make a difference in the future success of the team. Excessive absences from practices will result in consequences such as reduced playing time for that player, and/or a chosen consequence deemed appropriate by the team AVBC Coaching Staff. If all AVBC Players on an identified team cannot attend a tournament due to conflicts, that individual team/AVBC Coaching Staff has the option to move forward and attend the tournament if there are at least 6 players that are available, and it is deemed appropriate. AVBC Coaching Staff will be responsible for a minimum of a 2 week notice when dropping a tournament and be responsible for communicating any schedule change with their AVBC Parents/Players. Continued absences and lack of commitment by AVBC Players will result in a meeting with AVBC Coaching Staff assigned to that AVBC Player(s). If no resolution is decided on, the AVBC Director will meet with the AVBC Parent and AVBC Player to address the concerns and identify an appropriate resolution. The AVBC Coaching Staff reserves the right to cancel a tournament if the AVBC Director is notified of the cancellation at least TWO WEEKS PRIOR so that it can be cancelled, and a refund given back to AVBC. If appropriately cancelled and refunded, that AVBC Team can schedule another tournament to replace the cancelled one. If cancellation cannot be helped or completed within the two-week period, (unless there is an extenuating circumstance) the tournament will not be replaced and that AVBC Team will lose one of their 8 prepaid tournaments. If another world epidemic occurs as did in March 2020, AVBC will NOT refund any player fees but will consider future discounts and/or reductions for future participation with the club. This decision is made solely by the AVBC Director. AVBC practices the rule of sharing AVBC Players within the club on age appropriate AVBC Teams on an as needed basis. If the shared AVBC Player’s AVBC Team is NOT scheduled for a tournament the same weekend, that AVBC Player can be picked up by any other age appropriate AVBC Team with prior AVBC Director approval. If at ANY time during club season an AVBC Player, AVBC Parent, AVBC Coach, or AVBC Spectator displays inappropriate or unprofessional conduct, the AVBC Director reserves the right to DISMISS this person from the AVBC Program immediately WITHOUT REFUND. AVBC Players that decide to quit and not finish their club season WILL NOT RECEIVE a REFUND.
** Communication is the KEY to a positive relationship with parents! It is IMPERATIVE that AVBC Coaching Staff always communicate with their AVBC Parents and AVBC Players, especially when things are out of the “normal routine” at a practice or tournament (absence of player or AVBC Coaching Staff). This will minimize the talk with ALL involved as well as other AVBC Teams. Having a brief parent meeting will improve communication and avoid excessive questions from AVBC Parents and AVBC Players.
** Select travel volleyball is a commitment that will REQUIRE participation a minimal of 2 times a week for practices and a 2-4 weekend commitment per month for tournaments based on the tournament schedule for each AVBC Team. Even though Adrenaline commits to working with AVBC Players involved in school/church activities, a decision to make an Adrenaline Club Volleyball Team is a PRIORITY that will need to be made by ALL AVBC Players. Commitment from ALL AVBC Players is a necessity. Parents are PAYING for their daughters to play, and PROFESSIONALISM is MANDATORY by ALL AVBC Coaching Staff.
This year is the 2nd year that Adrenaline Volleyball Club will be doing satellite AVBC Team(s). This is to cut down on practice travel for players living at least 1 hour distance from the Chattanooga area. Satellite teams are being considered in the Bledsoe County area and Fort Payne, Alabama area at this present time. AVBC is open and willing to add other Satellite teams if there are additional needs in other areas. AVBC Satellite teams WILL follow ALL Adrenaline guidelines and expectations. These teams will participate in ALL local activities required by AVBC Players on local AVBC Teams, the only exception is their practice locations.
1. BE ON TIME. If practice starts at 6:00pm, ALL involved need to be there 10-15 minutes earlier to confirm that the net is set up and practice is ready to begin at the scheduled time. AVBC Coaching Staff WILL NOT ask players to be at the gym at a certain time if at least 1 or both Coaching Staff cannot be there. ALL Coaching Staff for AVBC will be positive role models for ALL AVBC Players on their teams. If AVBC Players do not notify the AVBC Head Coach that she is going to be late, a consequence is subject to be issued. This consequence can take place before/after practice, or at a scheduled time with AVBC Coaching Staff and should be consistent and implemented for ALL AVBC Players that it applies to. Excessive absences for an AVBC Player should be addressed in a scheduled meeting with AVBC Coaching Staff and ALL involved will work towards a resolution of attendance improvement. If no resolution occurs through the first attempt meeting with AVBC Coaching Staff, the AVBC Director will meet with the AVBC Player, AVBC Parent, and AVBC Coaching Staff to address concerns and commitment issues appropriately. AVBC Players that miss practice excessively WILL NOT receive the same amount of playing time as the committed AVBC Players. If any AVBC Player decides to terminate their participation with Adrenaline Volleyball Club, AVBC Coaching Staff needs to notify the AVBC Director immediately and NO REFUND will be issued for that quitting player.
2. BE AT EVERY PRACTICE. BOTH AVBC Head Coach and Assistance Coach are REQUIRED to be at EVERY practice unless there is an extenuating circumstance. If one AVBC Coach is not present, the reason WILL BE communicated to the players so that there is NO question about accountability or commitment. As a club, we expect EQUAL commitment from our players and coaches. AVBC Coaches WILL NOT LEAVE THE PRACTICE GYM UNTIL ALL PLAYERS ARE PICKED UP. This is a safety and liability issue.
3. BE PREPARED. Drills will be planned to provide adequate time for AVBC Players to work on a variety of skills during each practice. Stats kept by AVBC Coaching Staff are optional but recommended to be collected at tournaments. This is a process that will help identify areas of weakness and assist in preparation for upcoming practices and tournaments. Several water breaks will be implemented at AVBC practices. Our desire as a club is for the players to have fun but in a structured practice setting. AVBC Coaches will make sure that “outside talk” is minimized and court “volleyball talk” is practiced.
4. BE PROMPT. Practices will end at the scheduled time and WILL NOT go over unless it is communicated to AVBC Parents. Time will be managed effectively to accomplish everything planned for that practice and to enable ON TIME releasing of the players. AVBC Coaches WILL be mindful that parents are waiting as well as the fact that it is a school night for the players.
5. BE OPEN TO TALK TO PARENTS. Communication is a HUGE part of success in club volleyball. We would like our AVBC Parents to ONLY discuss problems/concerns/issues with the AVBC Coaching Staff that is assigned to their daughter’s team. AVBC Head Coaches are the ones to address these issues, not the AVBC Assistant Coaches. AVBC Head Coaches will also communicate ANY changes in practice and tournament schedules in a timely manner to ensure no issues arise. If an AVBC Parent approaches an AVBC Assistant Coach at ANY time with concerns, that coach WILL redirect that parent to the AVBC Head Coach. Our AVBC Coach’s goal is to be available to both AVBC Players and AVBC Parents as needed. REFER TO THE 24-HOUR RULE BELOW
6. PRACTICE 24-HOUR RULE. AVBC Parents WILL give the AVBC Coaching Staff 24 hours after a tournament or event before discussing any problems/concerns/issues with them. This discussion WILL NOT occur at the tournament or event (2-day tournament discussion on the 2nd day for example). This gives both the AVBC Coaching Staff and the AVBC Parent time to collect their thoughts and manage their emotions without reacting immediately after the issue occurs. AVBC Head Coaches or Assistant Coaches WILL NOT talk to parents about these problems or concerns at a tournament location for ANY reason. AVBC Head Coach WILL contact the AVBC Director IMMEDIATELY and share ALL the information as soon as a problem/concern/issue arises with an AVBC Parent. The AVBC Director will be supportive of ALL parties involved and intervene as needed. The proper procedures for handling concern as a AVBC Parent are the following: AVBC Parent requests a meeting with their AVBC Head Coach to discuss any problems/concerns/issues (at minimum 24 hours after a problem arises). Once this meeting takes place and if a resolution does not occur, the AVBC Head Coach will contact the AVBC Director to meet with all parties involved (AVBC Coaching Staff and AVBC Parent(s)). The AVBC Director will ONLY get involved IF requested by the AVBC Head Coach, or a resolution CANNOT be determined. The AVBC Director has the right to involve ALL parties involved or deemed necessary on an as needed basis. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A AVBC PARENT SPEAK HARSHLY TO ANOTHER AVBC PLAYER THAT IS NOT THEIR CHILD at ANY AVBC practices or tournaments.
7. BE RESPONSIBLE. AVBC is honored to have partnerships with local schools and churches and as a result using their facilities for practice locations. AVBC is dedicated to taking care of ALL equipment, removing ALL trash, and following ALL guidelines required by ANY facility used as a practice location. ALL volleyballs should be counted and accounted for after EACH practice and tournament by AVBC Coaching Staff. AVBC Staff will respect ALL facilities used by ALL AVBC Teams.
8. MONEY. When AVBC Parents or AVBC Players turn in ANY money for fees, fundraisers, or apparel, it is the responsibility of the AVBC Head Coach to notify the AVBC Director and record it on the Money Log in their coach’s notebook. The AVBC Director will plan to meet within a week of being notified, if possible, with the AVBC Head Coach. The AVBC Head Coach should keep records of ALL money turned into them to avoid any confusion or concerns. Payment accepted for AVBC is cash, check, Venmo.
9. REPORT ALL PROBLEMS AND INJURIES TO THE AVBC DIRECTOR. If there are ANY problems at practices/tournaments or an AVBC Players gets hurts at a practice/tournament, the AVBC Head Coach WILL NOTIFY the AVBC Director IMMEDIATELY. There is a 24-hour time frame that SRVA insurance will cover medical expenses for registered players and this deadline HAS TO BE MET or INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY. It is the AVBC Director’s goal to be VERY involved in the progress of EACH AVBC Team.
10. INNER CLUB SCRIMMAGES IF APPROPRIATE. Scrimmages will be available and are encouraged when the age levels are close and appropriate. If there are two Adrenaline teams close in age and/or ability playing level, it would be beneficial for those teams to scrimmage when there is a possibility to do so. AVBC Head Coaches will determine availability and appropriateness and reserve the right to deny a scrimmage if a plan to use practice time in another way may be more helpful in the progress of that AVBC Team. ALL scrimmages considered with other local clubs MUST be approved by the AVBC Director.
11. SUPPORT FOR ALL AVBC COACHING STAFF. As an AVBC Coaching Staff member, it is your responsibility to provide support for ALL AVBC Teams as well as their coaches. If two AVBC Teams are playing in the same tournament, it is STRONGLY SUGGESTED that ALL AVBC Teams watch each other if scheduling allows and support one another through cheering and positive reinforcement when other AVBC Teams are playing. AVBC Coaches will lead by example by encouraging this support between AVBC Teams to ensure that this is carried out and followed through with. AVBC Coaches WILL put a STOP to ANY negative talk or character assassination IMMEDIATELY with ANY AVBC Players, AVBC Parents, AVBC Teams, or AVBC Coaching Staff and then report this to the AVBC Director IMMEDIATELY. Positive encouragement and support are the AVBC Policy for ALL AVBC Teams and we WILL practice conduct in a professional, supportive manner ALWAYS.
12. HOTEL RESERVATIONS WILL BE HANDLED BY AVBC STAFF. There is a designated AVBC Staff Member that will be handling ALL reservations for AVBC travel. Once the process is completed and the AVBC Coaches’ reservation is made, it will be communicated to both the AVBC Head Coach and the AVBC Director. AVBC Coaching Staff reserves the right to share or not share hotel information with their AVBC Players/Parents. If a AVBC Coach makes his or her own reservation WITHOUT AVBC Director approval, that AVBC Coach WILL be responsible for payment of that reservation. AVBC uses its own system to make out of town bookings and the proper procedures will be practiced in this instance. If reimbursement is determined by the AVBC Director, the maximum amount of reimbursement will be $100, regardless of the amount of the hotel room secured by AVBC Coaching Staff. If AVBC Coaching Staff chooses another option for overnight stay, it is their responsibility to notify the AVBC Director to cancel the room that is normally secured for them. If the hotel room is not canceled in time for a full refund, it will be the responsibility of the AVBC Coaching Staff to pay for that night of stay at the secured hotel. If the AVBC Coaching Staff for a team has two male or two female coaches, it is an EXPECTATION that they share a hotel room for overnight travel. If spouses want to attend, the extra hotel room WILL NOT be paid by Adrenaline. This means that if 2 hotel rooms are needed, Adrenaline will ONLY pay for ONE. No spouses of an AVBC Coaching Staff Member will stay in a secured AVBC hotel room unless that AVBC Coaching Staff Member has that room solo. If AVBC Coaches share a hotel room, NO FAMILY MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE ADDED TO THAT ROOM. Any spouses or other family members will be responsible for getting their own hotel room. NO OVERNIGHT GUESTS (not married) will be allowed to stay in Adrenaline purchased hotel rooms without prior AVBC Director approval.
13. FOLLOW RULES/REQUESTS BY AVBC DIRECTOR. The AVBC Director will have a meeting prior to season with ALL AVBC Coaching Staff prior to each club season to share information regarding rule changes and information from the Club Directors’ meeting. This is also a time to share experiences from the previous season and for the AVBC Director to explain all procedures and expectations to the AVBC Coaching Staff. After this pre-season meeting occurs, it is an EXPECTATION THAT ALL AVBC COACHING STAFF FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES, REQUESTS, AND RULES PUT IN PLACE BY THE AVBC DIRECTOR or dismissal is subject to occur.
BE PROTECTIVE WITH AVBC EQUIPMENT. Each AVBC Head Coach will be given a minimum of 10 volleyballs, 1 ball cart, 1 ball bag, and 2 sets of team uniforms. At the end of season, ALL equipment should be returned to the AVBC Director in the same condition that they were given to them. ANY lost volleyballs, ball carts, and team uniforms that are lost or damaged WILL be the responsibility of the AVBC Coach to replace them by payment to the club. The AVBC Director will determine payment arrangements and provide information about lost or damaged equipment. (Lost volleyball $55, lost uniform short sleeve $60, long sleeve $75, lost volleyball cart $100)
(Below is information for the 2024-2025 AVBC Season)
A $50 tryout fee (including T-Shirt) will apply to ALL players trying out for Adrenaline Volleyball Club. For players that accept the offer to join an AVBC Team, the fee per player is $1200. This fee will cover SRVA registration, insurance, tournament fees, equipment, supplies, AVBC Coaching Staff payment for service, and contribution to gym rental for practices. Apparel Bundles will be a required purchase in addition to the club fee. There will be 2 option Bundles: New Player Bundle and Veteran Bundle. The New Bundle is for players new to AVBC. The Veteran Bundle is for returning AVBC Players. There will be additional Adrenaline apparel available for individual purchase both on a club store on the AVBC website, and available for order based on each AVBC Team. AVBC apparel is made and designed by an AVBC Staff Member and will be available at the Adrenaline Premier as well as for online purchase. The AVBC Director orders a variety of apparel to avoid repeating apparel from previous seasons so that returning AVBC Players have new options each season.
At least HALF of the $1200 player fee ($600) will be due by November 15, 2024. The FULL PAYMENT of $1200 player fee is due by January 1, 2025, unless there is a pre-arranged agreement between the AVBC Parent and the AVBC Director, which will be kept confidential. The choice of dividing the player fee in two payments or one full payment will be identified on the Parent Payment Agreement Form completed at the AVBC Parent Team Meeting. Unless there is a private discussion between the AVBC Parent and the AVBC Director, no pre-arranged agreement will take place for the 2024-2025 Club Season. AVBC WILL NOT ISSUE ANY REFUNDS FOR ANY PLAYERS THAT CHOOSE TO QUIT AN AVBC TEAM OR IF AN UNFORESEEN WORLD EPIDEMIC OCCURS (March 2020). The payment agreement mentioned above is NON-NEGOTIABLE. The AVBC Director will work with ANY parent with a financial hardship within reason.
Tryouts for the 2024-2025 club season will be divided based on age groups: 15 & under, and 16 & up. We plan to break down the age groups for the younger girls: 12-13, 14-15, AND 16, 17-18. We also want to make smaller groups based on age while identifying any players that would be challenged more moving up in age. If a player is identified as benefiting by moving up in age, that player may be asked to come to the higher age group tryout the next day. Tryout dates for ALL AGE GROUPS with different times are the following days: July 20 AND 21, 2024. During AVBC Tryouts, players will be assigned a number that they will be identified by. ALL players will participate in various volleyball skill stations (passing, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, transitioning, and game-like situations). AVBC Coaching Staff will monitor and evaluate players based on their ability and skills by rating each player per skill. If a player cannot continue tryouts due to a sudden illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances, an alternate time for that player to tryout will be arranged with the AVBC Director ONLY. Those identified players WILL BE ALLOWED the same tryout format as other players. ATTENDING ANOTHER CLUB TRYOUT THAT IS TRYING OUT THE SAME DATE AND TIME IS NOT AN EXCUSED ABSENCE AND DOES NOT SECURE OPPORTUNITY FOR A MAKEUP ADRENALINE TRYOUT. Any player that has unforeseen circumstances and cannot attend AVBC Tryouts at all, needs to contact the AVBC Director as soon as the conflict is identified to make other arrangements. ONLY the AVBC Director can approve a makeup tryout in this situation. Once identified players are selected for a specific AVBC Team, they will be notified by AVBC Coaching Staff and/or AVBC Director offering a position on the roster of a specific AVBC Team. That player will then have 4 calendar days from that date to make the decision. On the 4th day later, if the player has not made the decision, the position then becomes open for another player on that AVBC Team roster. Contact and communication will be made one of the following ways: phone, text, or email to all players trying out that were not selected for a AVBC Team. Any player added to an AVBC roster after season begins needs APPROVAL from the AVBC Director. This will ONLY be considered if numbers are low and/or unforeseen circumstances occur. The ultimate goal is for a maximum of 10 players per AVBC Team. However, the AVBC Director reserves the right to add team members to that 10-member team if needed as well as approve a team of less than 10 players on the roster.
1. The AVBC Director reserves the right to determine individual AVBC Head Coaching pay and AVBC Assistant Coaching pay based on the AVBC budget and financial status from season to season. There WILL be the same amount of payment compensation for ALL AVBC Teams regarding coaching pay each club season. IF the budget allows, the AVBC Director will provide a tournament stipend for each AVBC Team for the AVBC Coaching Staff. AVBC will pay all coaching certifications fees/background checks as needed and required and provide EACH AVBC Head Coach and Assistant Coach for EACH AVBC Team with AVBC coaching attire.
2. Each AVBC Team’s Head Coach will be provided with volleyballs, a ball cart, as well as 2 sets of uniforms for each team. It is the responsibility of ALL AVBC Head Coaches to return ALL volleyballs, undamaged ball carts and clean uniforms at the end of club season. AVBC Parents will take on the responsibility of washing and housing their child’s AVBC Uniform throughout the club season. NO UNIFORMS ARE ALLOWED TO BE DRIED IN THE DRYER BY AVBC PLAYERS OR AVBC PARENTS. ALL AVBC UNIFORMS WILL BE WASHED AND HOUSED BY THE AVBC PLAYER/PARENT. If a volleyball is lost, the ball cart is damaged, or a uniform is not returned at the end of club season, it is the responsibility of the AVBC Head Coach to pay for and replace it by giving the required amount to the AVBC Director for replacement purposes. If the AVBC Uniform is damaged or lost, there is a $60 fee short sleeve, $75 fee long sleeve, that will be collected by the AVBC Director from the AVBC Parent for replacement.
3. The AVBC Director will do a yearly inventory BEFORE club season begins and AFTER club season is over on the following AVBC equipment: (2) sets of AVBC uniforms, (10) volleyballs, (1) undamaged ball cart, (1) ball bag, The AVBC Coaching apparel is not returned. ALL AVBC Player Bundle apparel/equipment are kept by the AVBC Players. ALL AVBC Coaching Staff will sign a coaching contract at the beginning of club season EACH year at the mandatory coaches meeting prior to AVBC Tryouts.
4. ALL AVBC Coaching Staff will be REQUIRED to participate in Positive Coaching Alliance online training by the AVBC Director, as well as complete the Impact Training (only required 1 time), that is to be completed the first year of coaching for Adrenaline Volleyball Club. SafeSport is also required to be completed each club volleyball season.
**AVBC Coaching Staff WILL NOT discuss specific playing time with AVBC Parents. AVBC Coaches WILL NOT discuss ANY AVBC Player with anyone else other than that AVBC Player’s parent(s) and/or AVBC Director.
AVBC Parents and AVBC Players will be asked to sign a contract at the beginning of season that states:
All players are expected to FULLY participate in the demands of AVBC activities, therefore, playing volleyball for AVBC will be the number one (#1) priority OTHER THAN school/church activities. In fairness to other team members, any player or parent that is NOT willing to make this commitment is discouraged from participating in AVBC. AVBC Teams will support and cooperate with school/church activities, however AVBC is a commitment and excessive absences from practice/tournaments will be considered when it comes to playing time on that AVBC Team. It is a good idea to have a conversation addressing those players that play multiple sports or participate in a variety of activities that may interfere with their commitment to Adrenaline. It is the responsibility of each AVBC Player to inform their AVBC Coaches of ANY conflicts that may prevent their presence for future practices or tournament play. These players need to know up front that their absence can result in reduced playing time and/or other consequences chosen by their AVBC Coaching Staff. AVBC Coaches will provide a blank calendar to their team players at the beginning of the 2024-2025 club season to help identify ANY conflicts with practices/tournament play. This will be used as a helpful tool when planning tournament schedules.
1. Players will be penalized for absences without notification to their AVBC Head Coach by suggestions of sitting out during the tournament and/or additional practice time activities at the discretion of the AVBC Head Coach. If that absence means that there are only six players available for the tournament, the AVBC Head Coach has the option to drop out of that tournament WITH AVBC Director approval. This tournament cancellation can happen IF and ONLY IF a FULL REFUND IS AVAILABLE. If another age appropriate AVBC Team is not playing, AVBC Players can be picked up to play with the six player AVBC Team for that weekend only. An AVBC Player is NOT ALLOWED to play for another AVBC Team if the AVBC Team that they originally play for (on that roster) is playing the same weekend. An AVBC Player is NEVER ALLOWED to play for another club during club season while on an AVBC Team roster. If a AVBC Head Coach is wanting to pick up a AVBC Player from another AVBC Team, the following steps WILL happen:
· AVBC Head Coach contact the AVBC Director to notify for roster purposes, uniform checks, and approval.
· AVBC Director will reach out to the AVBC Parent of the AVBC Player wanting to be picked up.
NEVER will an AVBC Head Coach ask the AVBC Player directly or contact the parents of the desired player unless directed to do so by the AVBC Director. Any concerns regarding an AVBC Player’s commitment or attendance should be directed to the AVBC Head Coach only. Problems that cannot be resolved will be discussed with the AVBC Director to make the final decision on the matter. Continued absence and lack of commitment by an AVBC Player can result in dismissal from the AVBC Team with NO REFUND.
2. AVBC has a NO SMOKING, NO VAPING, NO ALCOHOL, NO ILLEGAL DRUGS policy! This policy as well as the encouragement of ALL passing grades will be enforced throughout the AVBC Club Season according to the AVBC Coaching Staff and AVBC Director’s discretion. Infractions in this policy WILL lead to suspension from tournaments and/or dismissal from the AVBC Team with NO REFUND and MUST BE COMMUNICATED to the AVBC Director.
3. Unsportsmanlike conduct and/or inappropriate language and behavior at ANY practices or tournaments WILL result in a meeting with the following present: (AVBC Director, AVBC Head Coach, AVBC Assistant Coach, AVBC Parent(s), and AVBC Player). At that point, the presumed guilty person WILL be placed on a Disciplinary Contract. If the incident occurs AFTER a Disciplinary Contract has been issued, dismissal from AVBC will occur based on the AVBC Director’s decision with NO REFUND.
4. AVBC fees WILL NOT BE REFUNDED if a player quits and chooses to no longer participate on an AVBC Team. This also applies if an AVBC Player has an infraction that violates AVBC Policy.
5. AVBC fees WILL NOT BE REFUNDED if there is another world epidemic as occurred in March, 2020. However, fee reductions will be CONSIDERED for the following club season.
** ALL AVBC Coaches are individually interviewed by the AVBC Director. Selection of the AVBC Coaching Staff is based on credentials, background credit checks, and volleyball experience. The SOLE decision for hiring the AVBC Coaching Staff will be made by the AVBC Director.
The following steps MUST be taken if a AVBC Player/Parent has a concern with AVBC Coaching Staff:
1. AVBC Player/Parent should discuss the concern with the AVBC Coaching Staff (both Head Coach & Assistant Coach) following the 24-hour rule and TRY to arrive at a solution.
2. If the concern is NOT resolved, the AVBC Player, AVBC Parent(s), Head Coach, and Assistant Coach will meet with the AVBC Director.
3. If a solution is not resolved in this meeting, the AVBC Director will speak individually with the AVBC Player and her Parent(s) and the AVBC Director will make the FINAL decision. Then the AVBC Director will contact the involved AVBC Coaching Staff and communicate the final decision/resolution that was made.
4. Unsportsmanlike and inappropriate conduct by an AVBC Player will result in the signing of a Disciplinary Contract, suspension from tournaments and/or dismissal from AVBC with NO REFUND, based on the decision made by the AVBC Director.
5. Unsportsmanlike and inappropriate conduct by a AVBC Parent will result in a Disciplinary Contract, possible suspension of their AVBC Player, and the possibility of discussion that parent is not able to attend AVBC future activities such as practices or tournaments.
6. Unsportsmanlike and inappropriate conduct by a AVBC Family Member/Spectator will result in suspension and the possibility of discussion that family member/spectator is not able to attend AVBC future activities and/or dismissal for their AVBC Player from the club, based on the decision of the AVBC Director. There will be a meeting held between the AVBC Parents, AVBC Player, AVBC Coaching Staff, the involved AVBC Family Member/Spectator, and the AVBC Director with signed Disciplinary contracts provided.

AVBC By-Law Articles:
ARTICLE 1 – Mission
The Adrenaline Volleyball Club (AVBC) is made up of organization and under by-laws to promote and support the sport of volleyball in the North Georgia and Southeastern Tennessee areas. The club is affiliated with Southern Region Volleyball Association (SRVA), USA Volleyball, and AAU by remaining a private organization responsible only to its membership.
ARTICLE 2 – Membership
There are two levels of membership: Individual and Associate.
1. Individual – available to a player (age and grade level appropriate) that follows proper procedures of Tryouts for AVBC and is selected as a team member by the AVBC Coaching Staff/AVBC Director. Each player will pay a membership fee of $1200 (fee is subject to change each club season) by January 1st or divided payments identified in the AVBC Parent Payment Agreement and discussed with AVBC Director so that arrangements are made in advance.
2. Associate – available to a player that has made an AVBC Team and fills out the membership form required for USA Volleyball Select Club participation.
ARTICLE 3 – Board of Directors for AVBC
Board Members for AVBC are as follows:
The AVBC Director reserves the right to make ALL FINAL decisions regarding issues/problems/concerns regarding finance or well-being statuses that need to be made for AVBC. AVBC Head Coaches will be making decisions for their individual AVBC Team, but problems/concerns/issues that are brought to the AVBC Director will result in the AVBC Director making the final decision. The AVBC Director will maintain positive communication and work closely to handle ALL money issues as well as ordering supplies, uniforms, equipment, and apparel needed for EACH AVBC Team.
ARTICLE 4 – Teams
For the 2023-2024 AVBC Club Season, there were SIX AVBC Teams:
1. 14-Shannon > Head Coach Shannon Johnson, Assistant Coach Jaden Rogers
2. 15-Cheyenne > Head Coach Cheyenne Davis, Assistant Coach Marti Hendrix
3. 16-Wes > Head Coach Wes Davis, Assistant Coach Terri Higgins & Amanda Blaylock
4. 16-Jeff > Head Coach Jeff Baughman, Assistant Coach Amber Ferguson
5. 17 -Te’a > Head Coach Te’a Owens, Assistant Coach Mike Owens
6. 18-Lisa > Head Coach Lisa White McDowell, Assistant Coach McKenna Dean & Statistician Nathan Motter
We are open to adding or reducing AVBC Teams for the upcoming season, depending on tryout player numbers. The ideal idea is to have at least one AVBC Team per age group: 12’s AVBC Team, 13’s AVBC Team, 14’s AVBC Team, 15’s AVBC Team, 16’s AVBC Team, 17’s AVBC Team, and 18’s AVBC Team. As growth continues with AVBC and depending on numbers for tryouts, there is the option to have MORE THAN one team per age group or to not have a team in a specific age due to lack of players in that age group. AVBC will provide teams in the age groups SOLELY BASED on the ages of the players that try out and are selected for AVBC that season. The AVBC Director reserves the right to cap off the adding of AVBC Teams or AVBC Players at any time. AVBC Team Coaches will be decided by the AVBC Director, and preference of the AVBC Coaching Staff, at the AVBC Coaches’ Meeting prior to AVBC Tryouts. It is the goal of the AVBC Director to have 2 coaches (Head Coach/Assistant Coach) and a maximum of 10 AVBC Players per AVBC Team.
** It is recommended that 1 Team Mom be appointed for EACH AVBC Team to coordinate the food/snacks/team activities/communication for each tournament. This can be done on a volunteer basis or by AVBC Head Coach appointing this individual.
AVBC Coaching Staff has been instructed NOT to keep ANY player on an AVBC Team that is NOT foreseen to get adequate and/or any playing time. AVBC Team numbers will vary based on age and ability but is recommended to have NO MORE than 10 players per AVBC Team unless there is a rare circumstance and approved by the AVBC Director. Keeping team numbers to a minimum will help ensure adequate and fairness of playing time for EACH AVBC Player. However, if there is a commitment issue with AVBC Players on a particular AVBC Team, there will be subs to fill in for excessive absences. The most committed AVBC Players will be rewarded with adequate playing time versus the uncommitted AVBC Players.
The goal for EACH AVBC Team is to have the following:
1. Volleyballs (10) for practice and tournament play (with ball bag)
2. Ball cart (1) for practice and tournament play
3. Uniform jersey(s) (2 sets per AVBC Team)
4. Coaching attire for AVBC Coaching Staff
**A Bundle is provided each club season with different apparel than the season before. This is an ADDITIONAL cost to the parent and is NOT included in the club fee. The Bundle is REQUIRED by each AVBC Player. There are 2 AVBC Bundles available: New Player Bundle (1st year AVBC Players), and Veteran Bundle (returning AVBC Players). Each Bundle will include the following: spandex, 1 pair socks, AVBC Warm-up Shirt, sweatshirt/suit, or pullover/jacket, AVBC T-Shirt, and bag. Both AVBC Bundles will be the same cost.
The uniform jerseys (including separate libero jersey(s), ALL issued volleyballs, ball bag, and ball cart are things that WILL BE RETURNED to the AVBC Director at the end of club season. Shoes and kneepads will be available at a team price (discount) but OPTIONAL. Our goal is to have AVBC apparel available for AVBC Players/Parents to purchase each club season. The AVBC Director is committed to avoid duplicating apparel each season.
ARTICLE 5 – Coaches
The goal is to have at least two coaches per AVBC Team, Head Coach and Assistant Coach (unless AVBC Director deems it appropriate to have only a Head Coach). The following criteria will apply for coaching credentials:
1. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – approved by AVBC Director
2. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – both SRVA certified and as a R1, R2 USA Referee
3. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – both pass a background check
4. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – both complete Positive Coaching Alliance Training (yearly)
5. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – both IMPACT certified (1st year & 1 time only)
6. Head Coach/Assistant Coach – both SafeSport certified training (yearly)
Additional REQUIRED training for AVBC Coaching Staff such as shadowing senior AVBC Coaching Staff will be considered and completed (as needed) and designed based on the approval and implementation of the AVBC Director.
ARTICLE 6 – Meetings
All scheduled meetings will be convenient for ALL AVBC Coaching Staff as much as possible and notifications will be sent. The following meetings are REQUIRED:
1. AVBC Coaches Meeting – there will be a mandatory coach meeting prior to AVBC Tryouts. This will be conducted by the AVBC Director and will address duties, expectations, and responsibilities for AVBC Coaching Staff.
2. AVBC Parent Informational Meeting – there will be a parent informational meeting prior to AVBC Tryouts to inform all new club shoppers. This is not mandatory for all parents, but designed for the parents that are EITHER new to club volleyball OR new to Adrenaline. The AVBC Director will host this, but other AVBC Coaching Staff are encouraged to be present, but it is not mandatory.
3. AVBC Team Parent Meeting – there will be a REQUIRED parent meeting for EACH AVBC Team at the beginning or end of the FIRST scheduled practice. The AVBC Head Coach for each team should orchestrate this meeting and discuss the following: parent payment information, parent contracts, player contracts, rules/expectations, and discuss any fundraisers if applicable. First year AVBC Coaches will have the support of the AVBC Director or a Senior AVBC Coach to be present for their team’s parent meeting.
4. Problem/Concern Meeting – Any problem or concern that arises with a AVBC Player or AVBC Parent needs to be addressed through the proper channels (1-AVBC Parent & AVBC Coaching Staff, 2-AVBC Coaching Staff & AVBC Director, 3-all involved with AVBC Director). If an AVBC Parent contacts the AVBC Director directly without going through the proper channels, the AVBC Director will refer that AVBC Parent back to their assigned AVBC Coaching Staff.
5. Disciplinary/Probation Meeting for AVBC Player/AVBC Parent/AVBC Family Member or Spectator – ANY player, parent, family member/spectator associated with AVBC that displays unsportsmanlike conduct to the point of being inappropriate falls into this category. This inappropriate action may take place at an AVBC practice/tournament or setting where AVBC is being represented. If this occurs, a face-to-face meeting between ALL parties involved WILL happen with the AVBC Director addressing the action. A Disciplinary Contract will be developed, discussed, and signed by the guilty parties and a consequence will be issued by the AVBC Director.
6. Disciplinary/Probation Meeting for AVBC Coaches – ANY AVBC Coaching Staff that displays inappropriate action, non-role model actions, social media inappropriate posting, or inappropriate behavior at a AVBC practice/tournament WILL attend a Disciplinary Meeting with ALL guilty parties and the AVBC Director and then a Disciplinary Contract WILL BE developed. The AVBC Director reserves the right to place ANY AVBC Coaching Staff Member on probation or terminate their position without explanation. The goal is for the action to be addressed and a resolution identified but if this cannot happen, termination from AVBC will be the result. ALL AVBC STAFF ARE IN A UNIQUE POSITION TO SERVE AS ROLE MODELS FOR YOUTH AND SHOULD HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE WITH APPROPRIATE ACTIONS AT ALL TIMES!
ARTICLE 7 – Fiscal Operations

2. The Adrenaline Volleyball Club has an account through Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and ALL money is deposited and handled through this account with the AVBC Director, Lisa White McDowell, being the only access to the account.
3. NO deposits or withdrawals will be completed from anyone other than the above-mentioned individual (unless there is a rare situation and continued communication).
4. Anything purchased or ordered for ANY AVBC Teams will be completed and/or approved by AVBC Director Lisa White McDowell.
5. Pre-Approval is REQUIRED for any individual AVBC Team that requests ordering, receiving donations, using fundraisers, or individual team sponsors. NO FUNDS FROM THE TVFCU WILL BE COMPLETED UNLESS IT IS RELATED TO AVBC.
6. NO AVBC Parents/Family Members will be allowed to make their own AVBC apparel without AVBC Director approval. The AVBC Logo cannot be copyrighted without AVBC Director approval.

This is before purchases are considered to run an AVBC summer camp (if applicable), or other AVBC activities. ALL money will remain in the TVFCU account at the end of the season to use for future AVBC Club Seasons.
ARTICLE 8 – Conduct of Participants
EVERYONE WHO SERVES ON THE AVBC COACHING STAFF MUST ADHERE TO HIGH STANDARDS AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT.
1. Conduct of AVBC Coaches – Coaches have the responsibility of encouraging, motivating, and evaluating players on the AVBC Teams. It is understood that we ALL get caught up in the heat of the game, but it is OUR JOB to handle those emotions and focus on encouragement and motivation while putting off a positive impression to our AVBC Players and AVBC Parents/Supporters. A goal for EVERY AVBC Coach is to provide team members with the need for improving their volleyball skills and an opportunity to show their abilities in competitions. Then through success in competition, AVBC can meet their mission of promoting the sport of volleyball in the North Georgia and Southeastern Tennessee areas. A 24-hour rule will be in place for all AVBC Coaching Staff. This will assist in preventing “heat of the moment” confrontations over tournament happenings that could be witnessed by others not associated with AVBC. NEVER should an AVBC Coaching Staff Member show favoritism or single out individual AVBC Players on their team. Consequences for being late to practices or tournaments WILL BE consistent for ALL AVBC Players on each AVBC Team based on AVBC Coach discretion. The AVBC Director, if deemed appropriate will REMOVE a coach for unethical misconduct at ANY TIME.
2. Conduct of AVBC Players – EVERY AVBC Player has been selected to participate. Therefore, ALL players on an AVBC Team are EXPECTED to be COACHABLE and participate fully in the demands and commit their time/energy as directed by their AVBC Coaches. AVBC Players should represent AVBC, their team, and themselves in the BEST possible manner. AVBC Players WILL always be supportive of their teammates, AVBC Coaches, referees, other AVBC Teams, other AVBC Team Coaching Staff, and AVBC Parents. An AVBC Player will be placed on a probation disciplinary contract, suspension from practice/tournaments, and/or REMOVED for unethical misconduct, and/or unsportsmanlike conduct by the AVBC Director if deemed appropriate. ALL AVBC Players that wear an Adrenaline uniform are a representation of AVBC and WILL ACT APPROPRIATELY as a result.
3. Conduct of AVBC Parents/Family Members/Spectators – The role of the parents is an integral part of AVBC and club volleyball in general. Family members and familiar spectators also play an essential role in a AVBC Players’ life and performance. All parties’ participation is VERY important and provides the support necessary for many vital AVBC functions. It is IMPORTANT for parents to support ALL AVBC Players and ALL AVBC Coaching Staff. This support for the AVBC Program will show the importance of the opportunities that this club provides. Unethical misconduct from parents, family members, or spectators will result in the AVBC Director asking for nonparticipation of that parent with AVBC and/or for nonparticipation of their player. If at any time there is a problem at a practice/tournament, it is essential that the AVBC Coaching Staff be given the respect of the 24-hour rule before the AVBC Parent(s) approach/discuss any concerns about happenings at that event. This avoids “heat of the moment” confrontations that can be witnessed by people not affiliated with AVBC.
4. Religious Views for AVBC – Adrenaline Volleyball Club is a club that has truly been blessed by God. It is Christian based and WILL BE RAN accordingly. AVBC Coaching Staff are welcome to pray with their AVBC Players at practice or at tournaments without offending anyone involved. AVBC Teams are welcome to ASK opposing teams to pray with them before or after games. The opposing team reserves the right to choose to pray or decline the offer by an AVBC Team. AVBC Coaching Staff WILL NOT implement their religious beliefs as an excessive display at tournaments with other club teams. This is to avoid offending ANY non-believer.
ARTICLE 9 – Established Mission Statement
“The Before, During, and After of Club Volleyball”
